When writing blogs, I’ve often been advised to keep the content relevant to the current needs and interests of the world.
So here we go!
DEI – when I was told of that acronym, no disrespect whatsoever, I did not know what it stood for.
When I talk about anything, I always say the full meaning of the word. Maybe I’m showing my age, haha, but now I know 🙂
Moving on… Diversity, Inclusion, and Equality – it’s still an ongoing struggle for many and a huge concern within society today.
Those who choose not to participate in the discussion sadden me 🙁
Let me provide some simple facts as to why this is still happening today, and let’s be clear about this: HATE is the dominant cause for discrimination against anyone who is different!
Like really, why would anyone care about race, gender, abilities, age, religion, culture, or sexual orientation?
Each person who walks on this planet has the same rights as everyone else!
Workplaces, schools, countries, states, restaurants… Are we that ignorant of the fact that other human beings and cultures do exist?
Look around every corner, and you’ll see incredible individuals who have such fascinating languages, fashion, music, cuisines, and let’s not forget “stories” that embody the beauty of our world. We live in a world that comprises many unique and diverse people, a beautiful gigantic patchwork quilt.
Stay with me here… envision that quilt of colour, shapes, textures, small or large pieces intricately creating an incredible artistry of beauty, and what’s more fascinating, folks—they all touch each other!

Hmm… Bob Marley wrote a song: “One Love, one heart, let’s get together and feel alright!”
There’s that word that needs to be heard in every single sentence and conversation of our lives, don’t you think?
If we can’t talk or respect each other’s opinions or rights as human beings, then we really need to take a look into our hearts. Yes, ourselves—because that’s what needs to happen to create change and acceptance.
Listening to people, you’ll hear the hatred in their tones and see the expressions on their faces. It’s chilling to just think about it.
When we’re born—innocent and untarnished—where does the hate stem from? Just looking back into history shows that hatred was taught by those who were born to hate others for being different.
Dictators and extremists have demonstrated to humanity—tortured and killed innocent people—one who nearly completed his mission to eradicate an entire race for being different.
Thank God for bold leadership. 🙏🏾
Have we learned anything from our own mistakes and past failures?
Parents need to be more accountable for how they teach their children to respect others in words and actions—now more than ever. Especially when it comes to guidance and answering the uncomfortable questions that arise at school or in conversations with their peers; they are the first teachers in their lives.
As a society, we need to keep the conversation honest, relatable, and truthful!
This I know: if I don’t stand up for what is right and do what is necessary to create change, then I myself am part of the problem!!
We can do better in loving each other. It’s a change of heart 💜 and leaving a better world for our children to inherit.
